Last updated: January 16, 2026I'm Shilo Sinnith, a fiction writer from the Midwestern USA. I write very character driven work and my narratives are carefully conceived and crafted around interpersonal relationships and unique dynamics. This is a rundown of my current projects and OCs (original characters), including where to find them.content warning: My work can at times revolve around very adult concepts, mature themes, and upsetting topics. I try to content warn when necessary but prefer not to spoil my stories. Please read at your own discretion.happy reading!

out of nothing

A monthly updated story on my Patreon. Li (short for Linus), a young student photographer who one day hears a guitar in the halls of his university. It reminds him of people he used to know and times that used to exist... and somehow leads him into the lead singing role of a band.
This story is heavily inspired by the manga/anime Given. If you happen to find this page in perpetuity, I wanted to note this project is suspended indefinitely. I would love to finish it one day, but due to lack of interest - on my part as much as the audience's - I chose to halt work on it and move on to bigger things.
the many fortuitous risks we take when we fall in love

A weekly updated project on my Patreon. Carter and Ashton are a modern day Romeo and Juliet, less because of warring factions or anything and more in that they've been doomed from the start. Of course, the whole enemies-to-lovers thing works better when one of you aren't dating the other's brother first. This project was completed on December 31, 2025! For $5, you can access the entire story on my Patreon.
antler dust projects

Antler Dust is a video game development studio that formed in June of 2024. We're currently working on our first project, a visual novel and extraterrestrial dating sim! The working title is Cygnus-13 and we hope to release sometime in mid- to late-2026. I am the lead writer and programmer on the project, though the story and characters were conceived of by our creative lead.We also have a smaller visual novel coming out sooner, but it is as of yet still unnamed. It's a cryptid hunting and dating sim, where you will be learning about some made up cryptids and dating the cute boys you look for them with! After this project, we're hoping to release one or two more visual novels as we learn how to branch out into more robust gameplay and possibly other multimedia like animation. We are an indie team of three and thus need the support, so we would love if you'd like to keep up with us:
Kynis Rescue + Adoption Center

The Kynis Rescue and Adoption Center is a visual novel available on my Patreon to $10+ tiers, but the first game is free to all! It follows Alexis, a boy who works as a cat rescuer and adoption agency worker. He's proud of the person he's been becoming lately, so what is he to do when Wilde, a large and intimidating man, comes in to adopt a dog one day - and wants to take Alexis home as well? This is a slightly darker work, with lots of references to adult concepts. There are content warnings on the pages for it and at the beginning of the game. The game itself is mostly a NVL mode visual novel (so it reads as prose) but there are slight inventory, open world map, and combat systems to play around with, too!
A MERCY ON INHERITANCE

This is a very, VERY adult work over on AO3 and updates every other Thursday! It follows Benny, who is about to graduate high school and head into college, and his best friend Kody. Kody has a hot older brother that Benny hasn't seen in years but on Kody's eighteenth birthday, he pops back up and - that's pretty much all you need to know. This is also a slightly darker work, just like The Kynis Rescue and Adoption Center, with lots of references to adult concepts. Content warnings exist at beginning of chapters but the tags include all things that are planned for it even if they haven't been posted yet.
linus + becker

content warning: Linus and Becker have many iterations and AUs (alternate universes); while many are safe for work (like Out of Nothing), most of them involve themes of abuse, sexual dysfunction, self-harm and mental illness. Please read at your discretion. There is a much more detailed post on them over on my Patreon for $1 patrons.I created Linus and Becker - AKA Li and Becks, AKA Libex - with a friend of mine who I went on to start Antler Dust with. While we sort of always treated Li as mine and Becks as theirs, we both care deeply for both of them. Most of my writing since their creation has been about them. One thing I love about Li and Becks is that they’re a major exploration of soulmates as a concept. Sometimes they’re related (as cousins), sometimes they’re not, but they’re always soulmates in some sense. I like the idea of soulmates being non-romantic so Li and Becks works focus a lot on how their relationship unfolds.
carter + ashton

Carter and Ashton were created solely as a Patreon project by myself alone. I have four different projects that focused on the same story - they don't have any AUs the way Libex do - and I never liked any of them so I kept redoing it. The current project involving them on Patreon (The Many Fortuitous Risks We Take When We Fall In Love) finally seems to have it where I want it!Carter was originally created as a way to deal with a person in my life that exited it rather abruptly and in a very upsetting manner. He evolved from there and is practically unrecognizable as such at this point, which is what I love so much about them. They were both a real lesson in striking a balance between forcing a character to be what you want and realizing that sometimes they do seem to have a mind of their own... and you have to respect that!
leland + lily

Oh, Leland and Lily...These two were a part of a project called Disciple that is still available in full on my Patreon - just $5 for all four parts, around 48 chapters! This was my "baby's first monster OC" and to date, my only flirtation with world building and lore creation (as you can see, Lily isn't exactly human). So... it isn't very good! And that's a very important part of writing! I hold them very close to my heart because of all the things I learned writing them.Their story has a pretty final ending, so once I was done with the project, there wasn't more to write. I'm not going to lie... I cried writing the last chapter because I already missed them so much. The good news? Antler Dust may pick them back up and I will get a second chance to perfect their story. So stay tuned... who knows what will happen with them?
benny + river + kody

Benny, River and Kody are characters from my AO3 work A Merciless Inheritance, which updates every other Thursday! Fun fact: they're based on some characters from an existing IP I love. Guess who. I'll never confirm nor deny, though. These OCs are kind of my 'vent team,' which is a phrase I started using back in like, 2014, when I had a fanfiction I was updating just for my own mental health. When I had something I needed to talk about - when I needed to punch a proverbial pillow or throw a brick at a wall, I would write a chapter of that fic. This serves that role now, in 2026, because to be honest, I haven't had anything like that in a while. It's been, in a word, very helpful. This is updating right now! Check it out this very moment!
alexis + wilde

Alexis and Wilde are from my visual novel that updates ever other month, The Kynis Rescue and Adoption Center! Alexis was the first OC I ever drew to the point that I enjoyed the art and thought it looked good - and Wilde is the first OC I've ever drawn and felt attracted to afterwards. Seriously, look at him. Isn't he so handsome?Alexis and Wilde are an exercise for me in vilification and humanification, which is not a word, but I've created it now. Balancing the idea of 'this character has flaws' with 'this character can be forgiven of them' is SO hard for me - I'm good at writing flaws, but I'm bad at just letting characters BE flawed. I humanize my OCs so instinctively that sometimes, no one gets to just be evil. Wilde is an attempt and, yes, spoiler alert - a failure. But that's okay, because he's more compelling this way. And far hotter.
